Land Degregation
All throughout the Taiga Forest land is being developed or degraded for paper, pencils, fire wood, ect. The forest only has so many trees and it takes about 35 years for a tree to be a decently sized. So we are obviously cutting down more trees yearly in the Taiga Forest than there are trees growing. This problem will eventually be devastating to the environment. All of the clear cutting is taking away homes of all the animals in the forest. Many birds, owls, chipmunks and squirrels are being forced out of their home and will have to live somewhere else in the forest. With all these trees and plants being destroyed the amount of primary producers. This will ruin the Taiga Forests food web, since the flow of energy will be set off balance due to the fact that there will be less staring energy. The cutting down of trees is also not good for the enviroment because it is putting too much carbon into the air. This is creating global warming because all of the extra carbon that is just sitting around is trapping heat therefore warming the earth. Not only is land degradation effecting those around it such as woodland critters it is also hurting the earth and it's atmosphere. With all the extra heat the winters will be shorter and not as intense along with longer summers, this is just another way that land degradation is setting off the balance of things This is why you must come down to the Taiga forest for 8 days not only to be blown away by the amazing scenic view but to also understand the need to aid and support the Taiga Forest as well.
